What is KDSAP?
The Tufts University KDSAP chapter was founded in in 2016. In our first year as a student organization, we organized a bake sale for charity, sponsored a visit to a local dialysis clinic, and hosted out first community screening for kidney disease.
We train volunteers to go into the community and perform health screenings that involve reading blood glucose, urinalysis, blood pressure, BMI, and WHR. Together, this information can help indicate risk factors for chronic kidney disease.
In addition to our work with screenings, we also raise awareness for chronic kidney disease and kidney health. Moreover, KDSAP members also have the opportunity to shadow doctors at Tufts Medical Center
We encourage anyone interested in medicine, community health, global health, or volunteering in under-served communities to join KDSAP! If you are interested in becoming involved with KDSAP, please click on the contact tab to join!
